The Daily Record Selects Andrew Alperstein as a Leadership in Law Award Recipient
Andrew I. Alperstein, attorney at Alperstein & Diener, P.A., has been named as a winner of The Daily Record’s Leadership in Law award for 2015. A renowned panel of judges selected Mr. Alperstein, as well as 24 other recipients, to receive the award out of a pool of 70 nominees.
The Daily Record has been endowing this honor to legal professionals throughout Maryland for more than 14 years. Not only does this award showcase a handful of prominent legal professionals, but it also serves as a symbol of the outstanding work being performed from both a professional and philanthropic standpoint by members of the legal community. Recipients of this award have devoted a substantial amount of time and effort towards improving the legal profession and the communities in which they live, while also fulfilling mentoring roles to help develop professional and community leaders.
Throughout the progression of the Freddie Gray case, Mr. Alperstein was a highly sought-after attorney by numerous media outlets, including CNN, ABC2 News and MSNBC. He served as a reputable resource and helped clarify media discrepancies with the case’s legal rulings and charges.
Additionally, Mr. Alperstein has been selected as a Top Lawyer in Maryland for Criminal Defense for the past six years. He has devoted his practice to serving clients, including police officers and professional athletes throughout Maryland—particularly in the Baltimore area where he was born and raised.
As a devoted member of the Baltimore community, Mr. Alperstein has volunteered on the Board of Directors at the Baltimore Child Abuse Center where he previously held the position of Vice President. Mr. Alperstein also regularly lectured to the Baltimore County Police Department, both to new officers in the academy as well as veteran police offers, to provide continuing legal education information.
The 25 recipients of the Leadership in Law award will be honored at an awards ceremony at the BWI Hilton in Linthicum, Md. on November 19, 2015. Mr. Alperstein, as well as the other honorees, will be featured in a special edition of The Daily Record’s magazine, which will be published on November 20, 2015.
