About Austen
Austen E. Cohen joined the firm in 2024. Prior to this, he was a senior associate at another Plaintiff's firm for four years. Austen's approach to practicing law is characterized by the relentless pursuit of justice. He has tried dozens of trials at both the Circuit and District Court level, hundreds of claims in front of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission, as well as numerous hearings before Baltimore County's Administrative Hearing Board and the Office of Administrative Hearings. Austen is known for employing his superior problem-solving, negotiation and research skills on high-level complex cases to obtain the best results for his clients. Austen has negotiated countless claims against the largest insurance companies in the country, and when negotiations are not successful, he not only welcomes, but he relishes the opportunity of heading to the courtroom to fight for his clients.
As a law student, Mr. Cohen served as a staff editor on the Journal of Land and Development, as well as a member of the Gibbons Criminal Procedure Moot Court Team. While in law school, he additionally spent a summer as an associate for the Department of Justice, prosecuting both civil and criminal matters. Mr. Cohen additionally volunteers his time working with the Pro Bono Resource Center of Maryland, advocating on behalf of clients in the tax sale, rent escrow, veterans affairs and immigration clinics. His current practice is concentrated on personal injury, workers’ compensation and employment matters.
A lifelong resident of Maryland, Mr. Cohen was grew up in Baltimore County before attending the University of Maryland for his undergraduate degree. Mr. Cohen then attended the University of Baltimore, where he received his joint JD/MBA degree.
