Warren S. Alperstein Quoted in NPR's Around the Nation
Alperstein & Diener attorney, Warren S. Alperstein, was recently quoted in NPR’s Around the Nation piece regarding the trials of the officers connected with the death of Freddie Gray. The trials are set to resume in May, more than a year after Gray’s death occurred. Thus far, the hearings have left a trail of unanswered questions and evidence of a shattered community losing faith in the justice system. Baltimore saw an unprecedented rise in homicides the summer following Gray’s death and many are blaming police inaction.
Mr. Alperstein stated that, “Officers fear that if they’re acting in good faith, they can be prosecuted for false arrest and an assault, even by just putting handcuffs on somebody.”
