Defense Rests in Officer Porter’s Trial for Freddie Gray’s Death

Warren S. Alperstein was quoted in a recent Washington Post article about the challenges presented before the jury in deciding whether Officer William Porter is guilty of contributing to the death of Freddie Gray. Officer Porter pleaded not guilty to charges of manslaughter, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and misconduct in office.

Mr. Alperstein stated, “It will be difficult to determine whose experts are more reliable. The state has to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. It’s certainly more challenging when you have credible experts for the defendant.”

Closing arguments are scheduled for Monday, December 14, 2015,  and then the case will rest with the jury.
